Today It's All About You! Show Us What You're Made Of!

Today, I have taxes and family on the brain - as well as a few other things. So it wasn't easy to come up with something for today's post...

So, I referred to my list of blog post ideas (if I don't keep one...well, you've seen how it can go here in the past with erratic posting)...and remembered, that I'm very very interested in YOU, friends.

If you're anything like me (and the simple fact that you are here, indicates a high likelihood you are) - you are also on the constant lookout for interesting blogs (and handicrafts).

There's just something about blogging...

But if you have a blog (or handmade product, tutorial, etc.), then you know, that promoting it can be a bitch. And I had this idea:

There's a lot of us in this wee space called the EVA Blog at this point. And we have a lot of similar interests, ideas, talents, and aesthetics. Why not promote and share your blogs and whatnots here today - in the comments?!

And this way, all of the readers here can see your blog, thing-a-ma-jig, tutorial, and what-nots; and you can spend the day enjoying it with less time devoted to work.

Sound good? I hope so.
Best,
Tara

Inspiring Me To Create (and spend) Today

Just some great finds from our fabulous interweb inspiring me to either make, makeover, or shop like it's 1999:

I just love little bunnies (I guess after the whole "Watership Down" bit from yesterday, you know that by now!). But a bunny family tree? This is really sending me into bunny-love overload.

Whomever the mastermind is behind the interior design in this craftsman bungalow deserves a medal - and a martini, straight up with olives. Love it Love it Love it!

This shirt for the young bucks makes me wish I had teeny boobies, or could be ten again just so I could wear it. If you are either - head straight over to Bleubird Vintage and snatch it up before it's gone in all it's golden stag glory.

A new piece from RVA's spring collection, this "Puttin' on the Ritz" necklace is absolutely fabulous! Want want want!

Another amazing vintage/modern mix interior that makes me want to throw all the furniture in the backyard and have a bonfire. Then head online to Etsy, eBay, and other fantastic venues for vintage steals.

And one final piece from Red Velvet Art's spring collection that, although it's silly, I absolutely love it - and believe I'm the kinda gal silly enough to pull it off. And along the lines of a makeover - I also want my hair that color. God, I have such a girl-crush on Allister! I just might have to shop like it's 1999 for that Lemongrass Bear Headband. Soooo cute!

Have a great day!

Interweb Inspiration and Finds

I love it when you have an hour or so to just cruise the web with no particular destination in mind, and just follow links with the frivolity and spontaneity of a road trip. Today I found some inspiration from a couple of my usual daily reads: the fantastic Purl Bee, and the funky-fresh CraftZine.

This lampshade looks like fun, and is giving me all sorts of ideas for how I can make my own....Also over at the CraftZine blog, I found this PostCarden, which is a refined replacement to the tragically tacky Chia Pet:

There's so much goodness over at CraftZine, I'll let you head over there to decide which project to do for yourself...next stop: the Purl Bee. Oh how I love the Purl Bee, ever inspiring me with endless possibilities for new media to work with, and delicate, stylish execution of said media. Like this stunning sashiko tote:

While at the Purl Bee, a button on the sidebar caught my eye for mixtapezine...I love mix tapes, music, and the type of people passionate enough about both to make a business of it - so I clicked my way on over. It did not disappoint. Not only is the zine and blog about music, it sneaks an awful lot of playtime for crafty goodness. It was tough to pick just one thing to show you, but I decided on this gorgeous garden hex quilt:

And before I had to run off to the Post Office, the Grocery Store, and who knows what other exciting locales a domestic goddess such as myself may visit in a day - there was one more link luring me to stay online just a little while longer. And I'm so glad it called to me like a beacon in a storm, the button for Home Ec, quite possibly the hippest craftiest shop this side of the Mississippi. A visit to LA may well be in order, if only to visit this shop; but I'll definitely be getting this online meanwhile:
